It all began in 1981 on an Easter Sunday at a Real State office in downtown Hagerman. With Jim Davis as a Pastor, and Eugene Swenson, Shelby Wise and Henry Westendorf as leaders, HCC was born.

The seed of the Gospel was quickly growing and the Legion Hall became the place of gathering for the new people that was coming. We purchased the old Mormon church and services began at this new location across the Hagerman Park, now known as (Valley Baptist Church). Property donation was made of five +acres out side of town and construction began at the new location, where we are situated now at 2750 S 900 E Hagerman. On Easter/Resurrection Sunday in 1991, the church collected an offering of $69,000 to pay off the construction loan and since then we are meeting at this new location.

On March of 2001, Pastor Jim Davis retired as a Pastor. 

New seasons begins and in November 11, 2001 Pastor Isaac Tellez became the new Pastor of our congregation.

On May 20th of 2022 our church facilities suffered a loss with a fire that consumed our building and was declared a total loss and reconstruction process began.

January 31, 2023 permits were granted but sprinkler system stalled it for a few more months.

Finally in February, progress was made. people from around the country came to help us to frame it, trusses, windows, doors, exterior paint, fire system begins installation, M&M Electrical, Quigley HVAC systems, our church servants and others... We are finally home, September 29 was our first service in our home location and then our soft opening was October 6th 2024, and Grand Opening Saturday at 5pm with Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting ceremony; new flag installation and our Celebration Grand Opening with our Network Superintendent Joel Wendland on October 13th, 2024. we believe the best is yet to come so our story continues...
